Fermented Reptile demos from 99 i guess. similar to album version except for a song that didn’t make it over what would become the beat for PLS - Electronics

Freestyle session with Gruf, Pip, Smitty and myself in 1999. This was the peak of my freestyle ability and I was still awful.

John Smith’s first demo, circa 1996. he kinda sounds like mic geronimo.

This was a fun video to do, we ran around downtown vancouver and gastown with gigantic long lenses. Then finished off the video at my friend Brad Gough’s. Thanks to Phil Lanyon, Brad Gough, Trudi Egerton Ball, Kimber Ritz, and the artists themselves, edge, Jaykin and Dave Ryan. Especially Dave for being a good sport at being a creepy stalker.

my top 11 albums of 2011 minus 1

in order of when i got them shits, here is my top 11 albums of the year that is about to expire

Spoon - Transference
Listenend to it non-stop and was in rotation from Jan 11 or whatever until now. Nice.

Vampire Weekend - Contra
Came across it on emusic and became a fan quite quickly

Aziz Ansari - Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening
I don’t own many comedy albums but I ended up listening to the first half of this record at least 20 times, not bad not bad

Black Keys - Brothers
Very strong BK album, ranks right behind Rubber Factory for me

LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
Not the biggest hugest fan of the vocal style but loved the beats big tyme

The Roots - How I Got Over
Very easy to listen to, but not easy listening

Black Milk - Album of the Year
I slept on Black Milk and listened to Tronic more this year, however this album is very strong. So very musical.

Jeff Spec - Sneakerboxxx
I am including the excellent promo tracks “Clyde Stubblefield” and “Birds” feat D-City in concluding that Mr. Spec’s output is list worthy.

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Loved Power a great deal. Kanye is the best producer in hip-hop by a long shot, and he takes it beyond what we have heard. Over the top but working for me (and everyone else apparently).

Arcade Fire - The Subarbs
Never been an Arcade Fire fan, but was instantly liking what I heard. Love the video for the title track by Spike Jonze.

Daft Punk - Tron: Legacy OST
I don’t know if I am compensating for my disappointment in the film by pouring my energy into the music, but this is currently what my first option is to listen to. I love this record. And there are all these other bonus cuts out there that blend right in too.

Hmm. kind of an obvious, commercial list, with not much hip-hop. Ah well.
